Night streaming black and cold
encircling my heart,
imprisoned,
releasing panicked nervous winged creatures
hampered in escape.
It burns,
it pricks my anxiety and sends me below,
dark and foreboding,
restless endangered sleep.
Wandering through efforts at planned positivity I falter on honesty.
Progression stalemate.
Stale, mate.
Pushing forward leads me sideways,
contemplating reasons,
analysing methods,
hopefully healed,
negotiating the persistant pump of adrenalin terror to the muscle that I cannot fathom.
Sick awake.
No escape.

2011 – back to the decks…
So I was lucky enough to start up some DJing in Nottingham town last night as part of Bring Your Bear at The Bodega. Amazing fun when I figured out the machinery and got to grips with the crazy levels situation… (having had my laptop stolen last November from our house, all I could use was my ipod, Rafe’s ipod and a scatter of CDs.) But it went incredibly well. Loads of happy people with waves of tune recognition glancing across their faces. There were appreciative high fives, a dude who explained to me that The Killers were named when Brandon Flowers spotted said name painted across a drumkit in the video for New Order’s Crystal, hilariously a random proposal of marriage, general good vibes from well wishers for Mike’s last night in town before L.A. re-steals him for a while and 5 and a half hours of music… not bad for a first proper venture back to the decks in over two years! So here’s to more of that!
Thought, just like back in the old days with Dave circa 2006/7 in Thomas Read, Dublin, I’d stick up the playlist. You might have liked something or just need some inspiration for listening material in this time of inspirational music drought!

New year, new thoughts.
This blog is now a year old and even though I didn’t blog very frequently. Happy enough so far.
Tune of the Crimbo period…
Choon choosing
Been sussing this Club AC30-esque DJ set for the Butterfly Explosion gig this past few hours and have come up with a very self-indulgent Cauls-esque 30 mins of mostly melodic, but mainly ethereal and dissonant heart-wrenching tunage… mmm, contradictory!
Only pity is, I came up with an hour and a half’s worth really, not 30 bloody short minutes! So I have this extended dream DJ set and a shortened one prepared… I’m ready for all!!
I’ll throw up a list tomorrow if anyone finds it in anyway enlightening tonight… or just come up and ask!
LOUDNESS awaits.
